Anxiety and Education - What Every Educator Should Know

A practical workshop where educators explore the basics of anxiety and panic attacks in students. Learn coping strategies to help them work through panic and achieve better success.

Anxiety and Education: What Every Educator Should Know

Everyone experiences some anxiety during times of stress, but it’s a cause for concern when nervousness, fear, and anxiousness become unhealthy or even debilitating. This concern is even more acute for adolescents. The National Institute of Mental Health estimates nearly 1 in 3 teens ages 13-18 suffer from anxiety disorders.

During this workshop, participants will explore the basics of anxiety and panic attacks. You will learn about the pathophysiological response that is happening when your student is experiencing a panic attack, and how to help your student in the moments of an attack. Learn basic coping strategies to help your students work through test-related panic so they achieve better success, and find strategies to help the entire classroom engage in helpful well-being behaviors. Lunch is included in the workshop.
