UMKC TalentLink’s Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI®) program is the premier cross-cultural assessment of intercultural competence. Guided by our Qualified Administrator, individuals and organizations use IDI to build intercultural competence and achieve diversity and inclusion goals.

How does the Intercultural Development Inventory work? Let us do the heavy lifting.

Participants complete the Intercultural Development Inventory, a 50-item electronic questionnaire that can be completed in 15–20 minutes.

Our Qualified Administrator reviews the results and generates custom reports based on individual, team, or organizational needs.

a) For individuals, a customized Intercultural Development Plan® (IDP®) is prepared. This IDP provides a detailed blueprint for you to further develop your intercultural competence.

b) For teams and organizations, a Group IDI Profile is prepared. Interviews or focus groups are also conducted to identify cross-cultural goals and challenges. These results are used alongside your IDI profile to determine specific strategies to improve intercultural competencies in your organization.

Our Qualified Administrator walks you through your results and actionable steps, answering questions, facilitating conversation, and providing recommendations.

The TalentLink team and Qualified Administrator remain available to provide any further coaching, additional assessments, or specific training you may need.
