Progress Monitoring Through Effective Data Collection

November 19 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm CST

Free

Overview

Data collection is crucial for monitoring the progress of any student receiving academic or behavioral intervention in the general education or special education classroom. A key way to see the impact of instruction is through consistent data collection which is required in order to monitor student progress effectively.

During this session, the “what” and “how” of collecting data for goals/objectives will be discussed and practiced. Participants will use a multi-step process to write measurable goals, and use a variety of data collection tools, as well as develop appropriate data collection timelines. Data collection and progress monitoring feedback is often a challenge in the classroom for both special education and general education teachers. Yet it is imperative we have this information accurate when providing student feedback.

Audience: This workshop is designed for both general and special education teachers, as well as, school administrators who want to set clear goals for student improvement, collect the right kind and amount of data to document the effectiveness of student instruction.
