The 2022 Cohort will begin in February 2022 and run through July 2022. Specific seminar dates will be provided to registrants closer to February. Further details on class times and schedules are available below.


The Bloch Strategic Leadership Program is a SIX-MONTH active learning experience for working professionals who want to grow as leaders and gain a holistic view of the challenges facing business today.

The 2022 Strategic Leadership Program will be offered in a hybrid format, meeting monthly both online and in-person. Each month’s schedule may vary slightly but participants can anticipate being online for (3) online sessions (hosted in real-time via Zoom) as well as meeting one day per month on campus at UMKC.

Mike is an adjunct professor in the Bloch EMBA program and recently served as the vice president of learning and development for AMC Theatres. Prior to joining AMC, he spent nearly 20 years at Cerner Corporation and three years with the City of Kansas City, MO.

Nicole Price understands that if leadership is anything, it is personal and that everyone can be a great leader. So, she gets personal. Nicole’s transparency allows others to learn from her mistakes and helps them avoid the same pitfalls. She gets real. She will tell you, yes, having significant differences within a team can be harder, but that hard work can really pay off — both professionally and personally.

One more thing:
She’ll tell you, in a heartbeat, how she’s gotten a few things wrong over the years, but a little grace and some solid coaching saved her. Through leadership development, coaching, consulting and other resources, Nicole encourages and enables others to live their lives in excellence.

Dan Stifter focuses on helping companies improve their financial results through optimizing their business model, with a particular focus on how to properly manage innovation initiatives. He led Hallmark Cards’ largest business unit, EveryDay Cards, as well as several others, including Season Cards, Gift Wrap, Party, Boxed Cards, Stationery, and commercialized all products in the innovation pipeline during his 15 years before retiring. Prior to Hallmark, he worked for Coca-Cola in its global juice business and spent three years as Brand Director for Coca-Cola in Europe and Africa.

Brian’s expertise spans the entrepreneurship field, focusing on entrepreneurial orientation and research design and analysis. Before entering academia, he was an entrepreneur, tech geek, pilot, government bureaucrat and a political hack, although not in that order. In addition to his civilian career, Maj. Anderson is a Logistics Readiness Officer with the 190th Wing, Kansas Air National Guard, and was previously a Supply Corps Officer with the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Phillip is a full time instructor at UMKC Bloch School, teaching courses in the Entrepreneurship and Marketing Departments with a focus on Entrepreneurial Marketing, Creativity and Innovation and survey entrepreneur courses. He completed a 24-year career with Sprint in leadership marketing positions. Phillip started his career as an entrepreneur in Phoenix, Arizona in the retail soft goods clothing industry.


The Strategic Leadership Program features unique opportunities to explore business challenges and dive deep into a real-world project with a partner organization specially selected from the Kansas City community.

Business challenges provide real-world, hands-on, learning-application projects that are timely and of great benefit to project sponsors. You will have the opportunity to work alongside your peers on developing novel solutions to complex challenges throughout the program.

Our classrooms at UMKC are set up to allow for distancing, cleaned daily and all participants, faculty and staff will be asked to follow campus protocols including wearing a face mask and following social distance standards.

All in-person classes will be simultaneously broadcast via Zoom. Should any participant not be able join in-person and wish to participate remotely.

Should circumstances evolve which require us to move fully online, classes will continue to be held via Zoom.

Online classes will be held via Zoom and hosted from 8:30-12:00. In-person classes meet at the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 9:00-3:00 in Bloch Executive Hall. Our address is 5108 Cherry Street, Kansas City, MO 64110.

Parking is included in course fees and a parking pass for the first day of program will be mailed to you along with parking instructions.

Light breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided during each day of in-person class. Health and safety best-practices will be followed in our food and beverage service as well as in shared dining areas.

Photo & Video Policy
By attending the event, you are giving the Bloch School of Management permission to use any photos, videos, or images captured on site for future promotional purposes.

Cancellation & Transfer Policy
Program participants (or their organizational representative) should call or email Bloch Executive Education in order to change or cancel registrations.

Cancellations made prior to 30-days from the first day of the program are eligible for credit towards participating in the next year’s program or full refund.

Cancellations made between 30-days and 14-days from the first day of the program are eligible for credit towards participating in the next year’s program, or a 50% refund.

Cancellations made fewer than 14-days from the program start date are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Seminar registrations may be transferred from one individual to another any time up to 14-days before the first day of the program.

“No-shows” are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
